We released a news spot on our website a couple months back honoring our very first Legends of RecognizeGood recipient and introducing the program to the public. Here is what the Legends program is about:
With the beginning of its second year, RecognizeGood.org launched the Legends of RecognizeGood, a program about recognizing and valuing the good in our communities based on recognitions posted on the RecognizeGood.org website. It was created to recognize special individuals who do extraordinary acts of kindness, charity, and good deeds in large numbers, or over a long period of time, or as an incredibly special single event. It is a monthly program wherein the individual receives “pay it forward” financial recognition to be given in their honor to a qualifying 501C-3 non- profit organization of their choosing. Along with this special recognition, both the honoree and non-profit representative receive a gift certificate, and the monthly Legends recipient is included in the annual Grand Legends selection program (another recognition and pay-it-forward opportunity) in April 2011.
Gullett Elementary Librarian Kay Gooch is our first recipient of this award, and we are honored to be giving it to such a remarkable lady. We look forward to the future of this program. It means a lot to us to be able to recognize those who have shown such remarkable passion and selflessness for others. Be sure to contact us if you have any questions about the Legends of RecognizeGood.
Go Forth friends and Recognize Good wherever you are. Who knows? Perhaps the one you recognize will prove to be legendary. :)
